His exacting attention to detail gives you true and nature, botanical jewelry. This unique jewelry is made by creating molds directly from botanical elements and a process similar to loss cast waxing. While traditional lost wax casting begins with a handcarved model of wax, Michael Mard, instead uses an actual leaf, branch or flower in place of the wax model. A mold is created around the botanical element and as it is heated the plant matter, burns away and leaves behind a beautifully, detailed mold of itself. 
 
The jewelry is renown for its beauty and workmanship, and is featured in the finest museums, galleries and specialty retailers around the world. Many collections are commissioned by leading museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum, the art Institute of Chicago, the national Gallery of art and the Château de Versailles. 
 
Artist, Michael Mau attended the Rochester of technologies, prestigious school for American craftsman, where he studied under designers, Hans Christianson and Gary Griffin, and became a master in the creation and manipulation of molds. After graduating in 1980, Michael McGard continue to perfect his graft while working under Jewelry designers in the New York City area. In 1991, he found himself working in New York City flower district and living in the beautiful Connecticut countryside – his love of the national beauty that surrounded and begin to blend with his passion for creating jewelry which led to the birth of Michael Jewelry.
